Parent Council

Our School has an active Parent Council who meet every half-term. The Parent Council discuss any school issue that affects the children. The meetings are attended by the Parent Council Representatives along with Mrs Walton-Jones, Headteacher. Sometimes ideas discussed are taken to staff meetings, to the Governors and to the pupils, but they are always taken seriously by us here at Flamstead Village School.

Our next Parent Council Meeting will be on Friday 16th October 2026 at 9am.

Year One

Sanam Conway

Hi I’m Sanam, mum of Robin in Year One. I’m originally from Derbyshire, but have lived “down South” for many years now. Robin, myself and my partner Tom moved to Flamstead in 2022 after being in Harpenden for a few years - where Robin was born - and before that Tom and I were in South London for many years. I’m currently on maternity leave from work as we’ve also have a baby daughter named Phoebe, who will be at Flamstead school in a few years time with her big brother. We love living in Flamstead and being a part of the community and our lovely village school.

Year 2

Justine Hardie

Hello. I'm Justine, a parent of two children attending Flamstead School and a toddler at home. I’m delighted to be a part of the Parent Council. As a villager of around 30 years, this school has been part of my family’s journey for generations, and I am happy to help support its continued success with aiding communication between parents and staff.

Year 3

Katharine Collins

I’m Katharine and I’m the Year 3 / Chestnut Class Parent Rep. I have a daughter in Chestnut Class and a three-year-old son. We live in Flamstead, close to the school, and love the school community of children, teachers and parents which has supported our family so well. I run my own business making and selling jewellery based at home, which means I’m usually around at pick up and drop off, often with my toddler in tow.

Year 4

Michelle Harris

Hi, my name’s Michelle and I’m the year 4 Parent Rep. I have 2 children in the school; a boy in Year 4 and a girl in Year 3. We’ve lived in the village for around 8 years and absolutely love the support the village offers. I work part time in the NHS as a psychotherapist and I also have my own company which gives me the flexibility to work around school hours so I’ll often be at school drop offs and pick-ups.

Rebecca Gisborne

Hi, my name is Rebecca and I’m the Year 5 Parent Rep. I am a local mum of two girls and a dog. I am member of Flamstead Pre-school and will do anything for others. I am happy to help in any way I can.
