The work in these two humanities subjects are taught according to National Curriculum requirements through a topic-based approach. Children learn to appreciate different viewpoints and changes through History. They are also taught to use a range of resources to discover information. Pupils learn to appreciate our environment and consider the effects of change upon it. A ‘hands on’ approach is fostered when possible, to enhance their understanding and each year group will have the opportunity to take part in field trips to discover elements of these subjects at first hand.
