Hair

Hair that is shoulder length or longer should be tied back appropriately and hair should be kept off faces where ever possible as it can be a barrier to reading and learning in class.

Hair bands, ribbons/bows or ‘scrunchies’ should be plain and either red or black or white in colour. Hair bands should not have large flowers attached. Extreme hairstyles are not appropriate for school.

We discourage the use of gels and other hair products and children should not have decorative patterns or ‘tram lines’ cut into their hair or have their hair coloured or dyed.

Jewellery

Jewellery is not permitted in school unless this is for religious or medical reasons.  If earrings are worn they must be small studs, which must be removed or covered for PE.  Please note: Teachers are not permitted to remove earrings. Wrist watches may be worn but only for the purpose of telling the time. ‘Smart’ watches linked to mobile phones are not permitted.

Nail Varnish and Make-up

Make up and nail varnish should not be worn to school.

Rucksacks and School Bags

Pupils in EYFS and KS1 should bring their reading books and reading record to school in a book bag so that these can be stored in boxes within the classroom.

Pupils in KS2 should either bring a book bag or school rucksack (only) so that these can be stored in their classroom drawers. We ask that large rucksacks are not brought into school as we have limited storage space in the cloakrooms. A school  rucksack can be purchased from our online uniform shop.
